now what is the difference

influence is getting into the nightclub

because you went school with the bouncer

you saved him when he was 10 from being bullied

NOW he is 6 feet 6 and a 6th Dan martial arts master

He could beat 10 on his own without breaking sweat

but back then

SO

you always get in to every bar in town

cos you are Little Markie's best friend

He is still called Little Markie

but things change

Now

Power

is what Markie has , he has literal power

He is a giant

And he is on the door

He is God as far as  anybody is concerned

He also is a protector

Because you came out as Gay

AND

He stood besides you and said

This is James, he's my best friend

SO nobody on God's earth will  EVER

mock you, or bully you

EVER

Friends grow up and change

BUT

a childhood friendship can last a Lifetime
