. That is an absolute lie, and it is a classic, dirty tactic that banks use to try and intimidate you into giving up.
The bank’s staff are lying because they are terrified of the Ombudsman
. The moment you open a case, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)
charges the bank a mandatory £680 case fee
just to look at the paperwork, regardless of whether you win or lose. They are desperate to stop you from filing that claim.
Since you have already done everything right, completed their complaints process, and they are still lying to your face, it is time to stop talking to the bank entirely and crush them with the regulator
